THE 2011 golf season that got off to a slow start will be reignited by the inaugural Dasani Golf Tour that tees off in Kampala on Saturday.
THE 2011 golf season that got off to a slow start will be reignited by the inaugural Dasani Golf Tour that tees off in Kampala on Saturday.
Douglas Mazune writes that the Dasani Water sponsored tour that was launched in Kampala yesterday will have tournaments at Uganda Golf Club (UGC), Entebbe, Jinja, Mbarara and Fort Portal clubs between March and June.
“We decided to change from sponsoring a single tournament to a series of events covering several clubs because our brand is for all people,†the sponsoring firm’s brand manager Maggie Kigozi said.
UGC captain Okello Ocero, his counterparts Alex Rwego of Entebbe and Jinja’s Anthony Agaba attended ceremony.
Ocero, Rwego and Agaba welcomed the innovation and pledged to organise tournaments that meet the expected standards.
Each of the clubs will host a tournament to select teams that will feature in the grand finale scheduled for June 25 at UGC. Individual competitors in each of the tournaments will also be rewarded with prizes.
