URA travels to Bombo today well aware that a win over army side Simba will prop them into the Ecobank Uganda Super League lead.

Victory will have Alex Isabirye’s side equaling KCC at 35 points but topping the table on superior goal difference.
Isabirye yesterday however conceded that beating the fifth-placed soldiers could be a tall order.

“They have shown that they can battle toe-to-toe with the giants,” noted the URA coach.

Coached by captain Fred Kajooba, Simba have so far beaten Express, Bunamwaya and Villa.

Isabirye has reason to be cautious given that his midfielder Oscar Agaba won’t play because of injury. Augustine Nsumba and Sam Mubiru will despite being injured play.

Kajooba couldn’t hide anxiety to take on the tax collectors. “I can assure you we are winning. We know where their weakness lies and are going to exploit just that.”

Simba’s top scorer Godfrey Wakaza will lead the hosts’ striking line alongside Martin Kiiza in a game Simba sees as an opportunity to revenge their first round loss.

“They got us in our second game when were yet to stabilize. It is going to be a different story this time,” warned Kajooba.

The tax collectors will on the other hand rely on the league’s top scorer Hamis Kiiza, currently with nine goals this season.

Third-placed Bunamwaya will on the same day also have a chance to narrow their gap with the table leaders when they host Police.

Express host tailing Gulu in a match the Red Eagles must win to move away from what by their standards is unfamiliar territory. Express are sixth with 22 points.

In Luzira, Maroons host Proline in a match where the home side will be without four usual starters. Roland Atugonza, Wanok Petit, Fahad Muhammed and James Ilecut are injured.
