What would make you smile about love?
Knowing that someone is always there for me, someone I can always call and talk to about anything interesting that I come across.

Who makes you smile?
At the moment, I make myself smile. I am single.

Why are you not dating?
I was, but it ended. We realised we had reached different places in our lives as regards career and distance, so we had to end it.

What attracts you to a man?
Character is key. I like someone who is humourous, open-minded and does not take life too seriously.

Did your last boyfriend lack these qualities?
He had them, but the timing was not right for us.

What habits upset you about men?
Not giving me space. We cannot always be joined at the hip; give me a chance to miss you! How do I miss you if you are always there? Some men say I am too independent and act like the ‘dude’ in relationships. I don’t text much nor call, but it does not mean I have ceased loving them! I am not the type who will get a flat tyre and call up my man. I will fix it myself.

Don’t you risk receiving the same complaint from your next boyfriend?
I will make sure it does not happen. Right now, I am practicing on my friends. I call, text and check on them more often so I am hoping that by the time I get into another relationship, I will be a better communicator. I will also try to be more dependent on him.
