German technology transfer fair

THE Uganda National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UNCCI) and Brussels Airlines will send a business delegation to this year’s RESALE-Expo slated for April 6 to 8, in Cologne, Germany.

Resale-Expo is the world’s leading trade fair for used machinery and equipment.

It is also considered one of the globe’s most important platform where lucrative deals are done and new contacts made on used technology like machinery and equipment.

Olive Kigongo, the UNCCI president, explained that the move was aimed at supporting government’s efforts in encouraging technology transfer.

“The trade mission seeks to promote Ugandan products and services, explore market opportunities in Germany and to cultivate direct business contacts between businessmen in the two countries,” Kigongo said in a statement over the weekend.

She said registration was on at the chamber offices in Kampala for those interested in being part of the delegation.

The expo will feature dealers in used machinery and equipment for manufacturing plastic windows and doors and aluminium profiles, manufacturing wood, aluminium, and combined windows and doors, wood processing, food production, Kigongo highlighted.

Others, she added, will include sheet metal working, car repair shops, agriculture technology, plastic and rubber processing, disposal and waste recycling, elevation and transportation engineering, packaging industry, building and road construction industry, treatment of natural stones.
