Local leaders jailed

Didas Mukasa, the LC3 chairperson for Muko sub-county in Kabale district, and Gad Mbeeta, the district cashier, were last week sentenced to three years in jail for abuse of office.

Aileen Akankwassa, the chief magistrate at the Anti-Corruption Court, also ordered that the two refund sh8m they falsely obtained from residents in a failed sale of government land in Nshanjare village, Kaara parish.
