VIOLENCE marred Moyo district COPA Coca-Cola Cup qualifier final between Moyo SS and Metu on Wednesday, reports Francis Apiliga.

The final pitying the two traditional rivals degenerated into chaos for over an hour as both sides contested over who should occupy pavilion A or B at Moyo’s Celecelea stadium.

The match was eventually played and Moyo won 2-1.

The violence started when officials picked one student from each school to choose who should occupy pavilion A by toss of a coin.

Metu won but Moyo, who had already taken their seats in A, refused to vacate.

Metu students then moved replace Moyo but head teacher David Dima convinced them to move to B.

As they moved, Moyo started pelting them with objects and they (Metu) also retaliated leaving six Moyo students with head injuries.
