THE Inspector General of Government (IGG) has acquired a sh5.4b piece of land on Clement Road in Kampala to build the inspectorate headquarters.

Posta Uganda managing director James Arinaitwe yesterday handed the documents of the 1.2-hectare piece of land to the IGG boss, Francis Baku.

Baku led a team from his office comprising his permanent secretary, Bayeya Waiswa to tour the land before it was put into their possession.

He said it was fitting for the IGG to construct and own a building to accommodate their head offices.

“We are an established government body that cannot keep renting. We thank the finance ministry for supporting this project and shall start building soon,” Baku said.

Bayeya thanked the Government for allocating funds to the IGG in the last financial years.
