EDITOR: Due to the rampant unemployment in the country, many Ugandans have been left with no choice but to seek help from recruitment organisations that promised them jobs in foreign countries like Iraq.

Ugandans have trekked to Iraq not knowing what lies ahead! It was shocking to read that many of these people have been turned into slaves.
The Uganda Veterans Developments Limited is particularly accused of having recruited Ugandans who ended up as slaves in Iraq.
It is terrifying to read such a sad story of how human rights are being abused and no action is taken to apprehend the culprits.
The Uganda Veterans Developments had a duty to act immediately but the women's cries were ignored! Companies who recruit Ugandans into foreign service should follow them up to establish how they are faring.
Companies doing this kind of recruitment should strictly be vetted by strong security organisations like the Internal Security Organisation so that the Ugandans recruited can travel to foreign lands knowing that they are in safe hands.
