MASAKA SS has at the eleventh hour, pulled out of hosting the National Schools Basketball Associations (NASBA) post primary schools basketball championships due to financial constraints.

In a letter addressed to the Commissioner Physical Education, Ministry of Education and Sports, the Masaka SS head teacher Hajji Musa Mpungu expressed lack of finances to host the one week event.

“In the process of preparing the all-weather courts, we have met financial challenges that we never expected. As a result, we have not been able to finish all the required four courts.

The purpose of this letter therefore is to bring to your attention that the school will not be able to host this year's national championship,” read part of Mpungu’s letter.

However, in a quick response, the commissioner Daniel Tamwesigire passed on the hosting rights to last year's hosts St. Mary's College Kisubi who with no hesitation accepted the offer.

Teams arrive on Tuesday April 26 for the event that goes on up to Sunday May 1.
