MUBS launches ICT centre

MAKERERE University Business School (MUBS) has launched a new Information Communication Technology (ICT) centre.

MAKERERE University Business School (MUBS) has launched a new Information Communication Technology (ICT) centre.

Speaking at its launch recently, the principal, Waswa Balunywa, said the ICT centre is a joint collaboration with the Southern University of ICT in the US.

He said the ICT centre will facilitate the introduction of an ICT-based post-graduate research programme for lecturers and students.

Balunywa added that the centre will assist students and lecturers in embracing different research findings using new communication technologies.

He said the programme will enable lecturers and students to generate knowledge and find solutions to various academic challenges.

The director of ICT at the Southern University of ICT, Prof. Victor Mbalike, said their collaboration with MUBS will enhance improved research among African people.

Kituyi Maoka, one of the lecturers, said the introduction of the ICT centre will assist in the introduction of the E-banking, E-agriculture and Telemedicine system, where information on traditional herbal medicines will be accessed.
