Marion Maureen Auma, 26, was in the Lira Chief Magistrate's court on Thursday, seeking justice after iIrajaki Ogwang, a Boda-boda cyclist, allegedly disappeared with the money she gave him to buy drugs from a pharmacy in Lira town, to restock her drug shop.

Auma who had always trusted Ogwang, says she used to send him to buy her drugs but on the fateful day, he allegedly disappeared and thereafter, he allegedly sent his brother, a catechist to get more money from her.

Auma claims she first gave Ogwang sh168,000, then he sent his brother a catechist for another  sh47 000, and the brothers later switched off their phones.

She also claims that they never pick their calls when they notice that it is her speaking on the other side of the line.

After reporting a case at the Agali police station, Moses Ocen, a brother to Ogwang was arrested, and thereafter tasked to give the whereabouts of his brother, who was found hiding in Lira town.

The case was then referred to Lira Central Police Station, and a court case was later filed after that.

The suspect agreed to refund the money, which also included other expenses, totaling up to sh700, 000, and Auma thereafter forgave him.

The Lira Court Magistrate, Yiga Adiru, released the suspect after both parties agreed to settle the matter out of court.

Auma says she is faced with a challenge of being defaulted by patients who seek treatment at her clinic, some of whom hurl insults at her when she demands her pay.

She is appealing to people to stop undermining persons with disabilities and asks that they are treated fairly, more so those trying to make a living.
