Man arrested for defiling 12-year-old daughter

Ssezibwa Regional Police spokesperson, Hellen Butoto has confirmed the arrest of Martin Nangumba, 38, a resident of Kikongo village in Buwooya sub-county, Buvuma district on charges of aggravated defilement.

Butoto said Nangumba had been sexually assaulting his biological daughter for a period of over one.

Nangumba was arrested after his daughter narrated the tormenting sexual experience to her two young brothers who advised her to go and report to the Police.

Butoto said Nangumba is currently detained at Buvuma Central Police Station as the investigations into this case are still going on. 

"The girl was presented to the doctor who confirmed that she had been going through sexual harassment for some time," she said.

Buvuma Resident District Commissioner, Agnes Nabirye said the children are going to be taken to their mother Margaret Nakato, a resident of Nakulamudde in Nakaseke district where Nangumba picked them.

The girl said: "He (Nangumba) threatened me with a sharp panga saying the moment I tell anybody about his actions; that would be the end of me. Whenever I tried to refuse, he would box me until I submit and he does whatever he wants."

It is alleged that Nangumba is a drug addict who could have been doing this under the influence of drugs.
