DORCUS Inzikuru started her campaign to regain top form by winning the 5km Gara Assoluti road run held in Azerro, Italy on Sunday.

Inzikuru, who has been in Italy for a while was testing her endurance ahead of her maiden steeplechase competition this season in Torino, Italy on Saturday.

Inzikuru has been battling for fitness, but ever since she moved to Europe after a short stint in Kenya she has improved.

And the improvement was visible on Sunday when she decided to do the chasing. In the final 200m, she increased her push going on to win the race by 10 seconds.

The time was over a minute slower than her personal best over 5000m on the track which is 15.5 minutes.

“It was the last of the road races. I am going to start competing in the steeplechase events as I battle to qualify for the World Championships. I will start on Saturday,” Inzikuru said yesterday.
