BOBBY Williamson has recalled Habib Kavuma to resolve the defensive crisis in the U-23 Kobs team.

The Bunamwaya defender, who is expected to join the rest of the team for training today was invited yesterday to replace pacey left-back Godfrey Walusimbi, currently undergoing professional trails in Sweden.

Joseph Ochaya, the other choice at left-back, left for Vietnam a few months back.

Williamson has also given Benjamin Ochan another chance to prove himself with the youth team.

Ochan was previously left out of the return leg against Tanzania following his goalkeeping errors against the same opponents in the 2-1 first leg win in April.

The SC Villa goalkeeper was not even part of the squad summoned earlier and was only considered after Ethiopia-based Robert Odongkara failed to confirm his presence for this weekend’s qualifier.

Williamson acknowledged the defensive hole created by Walusimbi’s absence.

“The defense requires attention and Kavuma is among other players that we shall consider for that. Otherwise, all the players are in high spirit and that is encouraging,” Williamson pointed.

Moses Oloya and Hamis Kizza, who scored in Kobs’ 2-1 win over Tanzania, are likely to miss the game.

Kizza is in Vietman for professional trials and is expected to rejoin the team together with Oloya and Sadam Juma, a day before the team departs for Nairobi on Thursday.
