UGANDAN professional kickboxing champion Moses Golola, claims he is not ‘a joking subject’ but continues to be a source of amusement for consumers of both the mainstream and social media in the run up to his fight against Sudanese Abdul Qadir at Hotel Africana tomorrow.

“I am the only man who can hang clothes on an MTN line. I am the only man who can get shot in the head and just feel a slight headache. I am not a joking subject. I will finish him off very fast because I am not paid for overtime,” such is the rhetoric that has featured prominently in Golola’s news interviews. The moment has come for him to match his verbal excesses with action.

The East African kickboxing champion will come face-to-face with his taller opponent at the pre-fight press conference at Hotel Africa today.

According to event promoter Patrick Kanyomozi, Qadir was scheduled to arrive last night for the vacant middleweight World Boxing Federation (Africa) title fight.

Golola, who has moved his training camp from Life Fitness Centre at Centenary Park to Kigowa, a Kampala suburb, will be in town for the press conference and immediately return to his base.

Golola’s trainer Abdul Nasser has solicited the back up of boxing coach Patrick Lihanda to perfect his fighter’s punching. “He’s ready for the fight. The combinations and power are really good.”
