Wakiso bounce back as winners

DAVID Komakech of Gulu darts club won the men’s title in the first edition of the Bosco Okello ‘Steel’ memorial Open last Sunday at Grant Pacific Hotel.
Komakech who was in a blistering form beat all odds of players from the preliminary stage to the final where he outwitted national champion, Patrick Kateregga 4-1. John Opio from Gulu ‘A’ settled for third position.
According to Uganda Darts Association secretary, David Tabaro, the event was in memory of the late Steel Okello.
Okello, a dominant players of Lira’s Galaxy darts club died last December.
“Steel was a great player. We dedicated the event in support of his family,†Tabaro said.
In another category, Wakiso district bounced back beating Gulu ‘A’ in a decisive leg.
The two day championship attracted 11 teams from seven districts.
