AFTER going out for ducks in the first three games, opening batsman Roger Mukasa rewarded coach Martin Suji’s trust in him by hitting a ton, as Kenya bowlers failed to break Uganda’s resilience in the ICC Africa Region Division One Twenty20 cricket championship game at Kyambogo oval yesterday.

Uganda beat the Kenyans by 75 runs to get their third win in four matches.

In the aftermath of the win, both teams then headed to Kyadondo Rugby Club to honour those that perished in the bomb attacks on July 11 last year.

“We are now picking up. I think we are gaining the rhythm we need,” assistant national coach Henry Okecho said after the win that saw Mukasa hit 101 off 63 balls, with only one six and 11 boundaries, and partner Arthur Kyobe claim 74 off 57 balls as they bowled from the beginning to the end of the allotted 20 overs.
