The Police in West Nile have received two patrol vehicles and motorcycles. The vehicles were handed over to the regional Police commander, Samuel Okot, by Stephen Odongkara, the commander of the integrated highway Police, on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Maj. Gen Kale Kayihura, on Friday.
He said the force was doing this to ensure maximum security for the business community on these busy routes.
“There should be no excuse of the Police saying they are unable to respond quickly
because of transport limitations. Use the vehicles well to serve the community,†he said.
Odongkara said through the vehicles, the Police would be visible, collect intelligence
information and respond quickly to emergency situations. Kayihura pledged to provide more vehicles for eight West Nile districts under the Peace, Recovery and Development programme.
He delivered the first batch that included four vehicles and 15 motorcycles on January 12.
