MR. Uganda Ivan Byekwaso and Rashid Kassim have stepped up training ahead of the Musclemania Africa natural fitness championship due in Kampala, September 10 at Theatre La Bonita.

The two will compete alongside other Ugandan musclemen including Africa middleweight kickboxing champion Moses Golola.

Golola will this time showcase his build in the Muscle modeling contest. For Byekwaso this is an opportunity to win the African title and says he is ready for the challenge.

“Kenyans have been using home advantage to beat me but now it’s pay-back time since we’re also at home and have prepared well,” Byekwaso said. But he will have to contend with last year’s World Amateur champion Kenya’s Paul Mwangale and Smith Antwaun from the US among others.

“Byekwaso has improved a lot in the last two weeks I have worked with him. His upper body including the shoulders and chest were small but he has now added 4kg to his weight which has improved his build a lot,” Hamid Kayanja, his new trainer, said.

According to Musslemeddy fitness’ Zubael Kalyango, the organisers of the event, the Africa championship will attract competitors from 16 countries including competitors from Asia, Europe and the US.

Lisa Ncetani (South Africa) and Shaherah Jordan (England) in (Figure), Doreen Heath and Mollet Kabuwo (Bikini), Wilson Munene (muscle model) and Antwaun Smith (US) (body building) are some of the top competitors to look out for.

They will vie for honours in natural body building, muscle, Fitness, Bikini, Figure and Fashion modeling.
