A primary school teacher in Gulu Municipality was arrested over smoking marijuana on Monday. The northern regional Police spokesman, Johnson Kilama, said the teacher had been arrested on several occasions over the same offence.

Stephen Onencan, a teacher at Aywee primary school in Pece division, was arrested together with Denis Ocan, Christopher Okello, Richard Komakech, Jacob Ojok and Ocan Muzara.

According to Kilama, Onencan said he was making notes at the hut when he was arrested with the boys.

The six were found in possession of rolls of marijuana ready for sale. Others were caught smoking marijuana in a hut behind the Education Standard Agency offices in Bardege division.

Kilama said the suspects would be charged with using illicit drugs.
