VISION Group’s Urban TV, which is currently testing its signals, has spiced up its programming by introducing golden oldie movies starting tomorrow at 9:00pm.

“We chose golden oldie movies because our target audience never got a chance to watch such movies at the time they were at their peak. So, we want them to explore comfortably at their homes,” says Mark Walungama, head of TV, Vision Group.

Golden oldie movies will bring back actors like Bruce Lee, Chuck Norris, Van Dame, Sylvester Stallon (Rambo), Arnold Schwarzenegger, Harrison Ford, Clint Morris, Jackie Chan and Eddy Murphy, among other famous actors of the 1980s and early 1990s.

Urban TV, which will be broadcasting in English, went on air two weeks ago and will be testing its signals for the rest of this month before normal programming starts in October.

Thousands of Urban TV viewers have been requesting management to start airing movies. Walungama says the management had to act quickly to satisfy the viewers.

“Our target audience are people aged between 18-35 years. Such audience love entertainment and that is why Urban TV is entertainment-driven. If you want entertainment, watch Urban TV. Viewers have over a month to enjoy the hottest music videos and now golden oldie movies every day,” says Walungama.

So, if you want to know which movies were hot back in the day, simply sit and relax and enjoy Urban TV broadcasting on Channel 43.
