Regional launch goes to Jinja tonight

THE northern region last Saturday witnessed the kick-off of the 2011 Pearl of Africa Music Awards (PAM Awards).

THE northern region last Saturday witnessed the kick-off of the 2011 Pearl of Africa Music Awards (PAM Awards).

Energetic performances from Sizzaman and Henry Tigan were the highlights of the two-day tour of Lira and Gulu district.

The region’s hot artistes, Tumnofi, Smokie and Mob Jackson also graced the event with other artistes like Trishila, whose hits sent the crowdsto their feet.

Witty Witty and Leila Kayondo alongside Stingers, all from Kampala, made the revellers at Acholi Inn brave the heavy rain during their performances.

Northern artiste of the year Brazen Rule alongside B’fall and Bosmic Otim were another hot item, as revellers waited to see them belt out hip-hop and Afrobeat hits in Langi.

Now the regional launch is going eastern this weekend, tonight, Crested Crane Hotel in Jinja will be alight with the PAM Awards eastern activation concert, featuring artistes like Dr Hilderman and Henry Tigan.

Tomorrow, the eastern activation will spill over to residents of Mukono at Colline Hotel. PAM Awards coordinator, Salim Nyonyintono, has confirmed that action starts at 7:00pm. The main awards ceremony will take place on November 10, at Lugogo show grounds.
