THE Police Anti-human sacrifice unit is hunting for Kampala businessman Godfrey Kato Kajubi to arraign him in court for retrial over the murder of a-12-year-old boy, Joseph Kasirye.

Kajubi on Monday lost an appeal in the Supreme Court where he had sought orders stopping his retrial for murder.

The head of Police anti human sacrifice unit Moses Binoga told the New Vision on Tuesday that they are liaising with the International Police to ensure that he is arrested and tried.

The Supreme Court rejected Kajubi’s notice of appeal on grounds that he had failed to file a memorandum of appeal within the prescribed period of 14 days since he lodged the notice of appeal in November 2010.

The Chief Justice, Benjamin Odoki led the coram. Other members were Justices John Wilson Tsekooko, Bart Katureebe, Christine Kitumba and Jotham Tumwesigye.

Earlier, Kajubi’s lawyers that had been provided by the state, Abbas Bukenya, who was holding brief for Musa Kabega, told the court that they were unable to proceed with the appeal because they had failed to find Kajubi and; therefore, they were unable to prepare a memorandum of appeal.

High court judge acquitted Kajubi but the director of Public Prosecution appealed the ruling.
