THE Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, has told security officials in Kamuli district to be focused when executing their duties.

Kadaga said there were some indisciplined leaders who abused others to the extent of fighting with their colleagues but no action was taken against them.

Kadaga, who is also the Kamuli district Woman MP, gave the advice at a party organised by her parents in their home in Mbulamuti village, Kamuli district on Sunday to congratulate her upon her election as Speaker.

She urged local leaders to work as a team and develop the district for the benefit of the people.

“My theme is to connect piped water to Kamuli. I will also focus on vocational employment,” she said.

Kadaga revealed that the Government had agreed to construct a vocational and technical school in Kamuli, which President Yoweri Museveni had pledged earlier.

“I will make sure the vocational institute is built in Kamuli for the benefit of the youth so that they can create jobs and make money,” said Kadaga.

She said the Ministry of Education would soon send its officials to Kamuli to locate land in Nawanyago where the vocational institute will be built.

Prince William Gabula Nadiope IV, who attended the function, requested Kadaga to continue lobbying for programmes aimed at developing Busoga sub-region.

“I also urge the Basoga wherever they are to forget their differences and develop the region. Always seek advice from leaders like MPs and cultural leaders on how to develop Busoga,” said Gabula.

He urged parents not to deny their children education.

Gabula disclosed that he would be graduating in February 2012 at Kyambogo University as an economist and appreciated whoever helped him in his education.
