THE United Kingdom-based Ugandan musicians known as Da Twinz, who later changed to Ganda Foundation, basically to do charity related works, held live music performances in Stroud Wiltshere in South West England, recently, to fund raise for Cancer Patients in Uganda.

It all started at exactly 7:30pm UK time at Minchinhampton and the show was in aid of the Ganda Foundation and the Katalemwa Cheshire Home. The co-organiser Clara Hadson who was raising funds for the Katalemwa Play Ground was very humbled to team up with the band to create such an exciting evening.

It was an exciting experience to see a full Ganda Boys live performance with a powerful 16-member band last weekend. The Theatre was packed to capacity. Denis Mugagga and Dan Sewagudde formerly known as Da Twinz were amazing; they commanded the audience with their vocals, moves and sheer dynamism.

Songs like “Africa” rocked and got the audience going. An extended version of “Take a Bus” introduced the band, with some very entertaining short solo clips from the outstanding players in the ensemble.

This experience showed that the Ganda Boys needed to be seen live. They are brilliant performers with incredible energy and presence. Their performance was an ultimate feel of good experience.

The performance capabilities of the two front men, Denis and Dan raised the material from the CD to another level. They clearly worked together a lot in Africa and brought their efforts to the UK, to the world, a partnership that is unique, exciting and uplifting.

This was an export of an African sensibility to stage new African craft that is vibrant and engaging.

When you put all this together – Denis, Dan and Craig – very ably assisted by the great musicians in the band, you have an experience that people will be clamoring alot for.
