Over 100 intern medical doctors at the country’s main referral hospital Mulago in Kampala on Friday went on strike protesting the government’s failure to pay their full allowances.

The students say they have not been paid since August yet the hospital administration does not pay for their meals and accommodation.

They have vowed to resume work only if payments are made.

In July, over 200 intern medical doctors, and in all regional referral hospitals countrywide went on a strike over the same.

Some of the affected hospitals included Kabale, Mbarara, Jinja, Nsambya, Mengo and Nsambya.
