Kumi Siamese twins in good health

The newly born Siamese twins admitted at Mulago Hospital are in good health, hospital’s spokesperson Dan Kimosho has said.

The newly born Siamese twins admitted at Mulago Hospital are in good health, hospital’s spokesperson Dan Kimosho has said.
 
Kimosho said the twins were feeding well on breast milk.The female twins born at seven months, are joined at the chest and abdomen up to the umbilical cord. 
 
Kimisho said medical examinations will begin when the babies are nine months. The twins were born last Saturday to 19-year-old Agnes Anyait and Augustine Ojangole, 23, of Ngora district at Kumi hospital. 
 
 They are admitted at Mulago’s Special Care Unit on Ward 5B. They weigh 4.2 kilogrammes.  This is the second pair of Siamese twins admitted to Mulago hospital in a period of four months after the Kabale male twins who are joined at the abdomen and are awaiting operation. 
 
 Kimosho said the hospital management was caring for the babies but made a financial  appeal for the parents’ upkeep, describing the couple as financially unstable.
 
On Wednesday, Ojangole said Kumi hospital was still demanding sh200,000 in medical bills.The executive director of Mulago hospital, Dr. Baterana Byarugaba, said they would use experts to investigate and  know what the twins share before planning for them.
