CHOGM: IGG to release list of more implicated ministers

THE Inspector General of Government (IGG) is set to release another list of ministers who are implicated in the Commonwealth Head of Governments Meeting (CHOGM) scandal.

THE Inspector General of Government (IGG) is set to release another list of ministers who are implicated in the Commonwealth Head of Governments Meeting (CHOGM) scandal.

The inspectorate spokesperson Ali Munila said Thursday that investigations into other government officials alleged to have caused financial loss to government are complete.

“Now that investigations are complete, the court process is set to take place,” Munila said.

She dismissed claims of selective prosecution by the inspectorate over CHOGM scandal assuring that all those implicated in the scam will be brought to book.

Her announcement comes at a time when three Cabinet ministers indicted over CHOGM works at Speke Resort Munyonyo appeared in court Thursday and denied the charges of abuse of office and causing loss to government.

They are Sam Kutesa, John Nasasira and Mwesigwa Rukutana. The trio stepped down from their Cabinet posts of Foreign affairs, Chief Whip and state for labour respectively.

Former Vice-President Gilbert Bukenya was granted bail this week by the same court. He is facing charges of abuse of office in relation CHOGM car deal.
