Over 865 local and international exhibitors are expected to participate in the fifteenth Uganda International Trade Fair that starts on October 4.

Kaddu Kiberu, the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) chairman, said preparations for the country’s premier event were complete.

“Unlike the past, this year’s trade fair will have a map at the main entrance to direct show-goers, a VIP gate, guides to take visitors around and first aid facilities. The grounds have also been insured for the visitors, exhibitors and their properties,” Kiberu said. The exhibition will run under the theme Extending industrial investment and economic growth.

New exhibitors expected to grace this years’ event include agricultural and food scientists from the public sector, alternative energy solutions and makers of wood substitutes.

The show focuses on promoting Ugandan made products.

Foreign exhibitors from China, Egypt, Pakistan, France, Indonesia, Japan, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria, and Zimbabwe have already registered for the show.
