The Joint Task Force of security organs on Friday carried out an operation on the streets of Kampala to enforce face mask-wearing.

The operation which included police, LDU, and the Uganda People's Defence Forces, (UPDF), was commanded by the Officer in Charge of Operations at Central Police Station in Kampala, Ivan Nduhura.

The operation started at Ben Kiwanuka street and it ended at Arua Park.

Many people who were found moving around without wearing face masks as directed by the president, were cautioned and asked to put them on or buy. Some people had masks in their pockets.

"If we find you again without a face mask, we shall take you and you learn to wear it from the police custody," Nduhura warned.

Here, police blocked the road from City Square to Arua park and ordered all the people working from this area to go back home until the lockdown is fully lifted.
