Ntake Bakery engineer dies in Lira road accident

His vehicle rolled several times and was only stopped by the concrete wall of Lira Main market.

An electric engineer working with Ntake Bakery Company in Lira district died in a road accident on Wednesday night.
 
Emmanuel Muhumuza Bituura, 27, was cruising along Obote Avenue, when his vehicle lost control at the crossroad to Oyam road, knocked pavements and rammed onto a signpost and overturned. 
 
His vehicle rolled several times and was only stopped by the concrete wall of Lira Main market.
 
Steven Mutebi, the manager of Ntake Bakery, who was dropped by the deceased before he met his fate said they were coming from Mbale to pick spare parts of their Lira factory.
 
He said the deceased was proceeding to Railways Division where he resides. He is survived by two children.
 
A Police officer who was at the scene, said the driver could have been speeding and lost control or the vehicle could have developed a mechanical condition and lost control.
 
The wreckage of the vehicle was removed and taken to Lira Central Police Station.
 
Uganda Volleyball Federation regretted the demise of their player. In a statement on Facebook,  Uganda volleyball family announced the deceased was an Alumni of Ndejje University and graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a prominent member of the Men's Volleyball Team (Sharks).
 
"We mourn together with the Family, Ndejje University family, friends and workmates at this trying moment."
 
Ndejje University announced on Facebook with profound shock that they learnt about the demise of Ndejje University Alumnus Emmanuel Muhumuza Bituura.
