Man struggles to carry his unconscious wife to hospital

Matani Famba, a resident of Mukono Municipality and his colleagues sweated as they carried his unconscious wife to the hospital.

Famba says he does not know what happened to his wife, Diana Nanyombi who suddenly became unconscious.

The fact that it was already past 2:00 pm when the bodabodas that would have come to their rescue had stopped working, Famba said he had no option but to carry her to hospital.

"I called my colleagues and we lifted my wife but she was so heavy. Another man joined us and we walked to the hospital," he says.

Famba is one of the many Ugandans who are experiencing hardships in matters of transport following the lockdown and curfew in place to curb the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

He suspects that they must have run out of oxygen because the wife was cooking inside the house on a charcoal stove yet the window and the door were shut.

Nanyombi was taken to Mukono International Medical Centre where she was attended to.
