The average person may not realise the huge appeal of golf because they haven’t been exposed to it, but for the ardent golfers, this is going to be a ‘mourning period’.

Golfers will this weekend turn their focus elsewhere after the lock-down on all sporting activities in the countrys, following  the threat of the Coronavirus.

The average person may not realise the huge appeal of golf because they haven't been exposed to it, but for the ardent golfers, this is going to be a ‘mourning period'.

From the Serena Members monthly tournament that was due on Friday at the Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa to the Lady Captain's prize tournament at Kitante, to the Namulonge Monthly Mug and the Castle Lite Entebbe Mug and the Kihihi open in Rukungiri, all have been postponed following President Museveni's address on Wednesday about the Corona virus pandemic.

"Following the president's address regarding COVID-19 Coronavirus please note that we are compelled to postpone the Lady Captain's Prize Golf Tournament, initially scheduled for this Saturday March 21, to a date that shall be communicated in the future," lady captain Anne Abeja stated.

Golfers go the course for different reasons including exercise by hitting the golf ball and or walking the course, burning calories walking, and strengthening leg and back muscles with every swing of the clubs.

Even though golf is an individual sport, it offers a big networking opportunity which will all not happen this weekend and for the whole month!. That urge to hit the lowest score and making the perfect putt will happen without competition.
