Investigations indicate that the trio were put out of action at Nankinga Zone, in Bunamwaya in Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality, in Wakiso district, by Rubaga battalion army operatives at around 10:00pm, on Sunday night.

The Police say the robbers were travelling in a Toyota Harrier (no numberplates) when they blocked the airport taxi that was carrying the unidentified woman who was reportedly coming from abroad.

"When their vehicle blocked the taxi, the thugs jumped out and put the driver of the taxi at gunpoint and that is when the army officers who were following them from behind shot at them, killing three of them instantly," said the Police.

Currently, detectives from Katwe Police are following up on the matter to ascertain how the whole plan was orchestrated.
