Ssimbwa is accused of asking for a budget to influence referees from former URA FC CEO Ivan Kakembo,

The FUFA Ethics Committee-Investigatory Chamber has summoned coaches Sam Ssimbwa and George Ssimwogerere over allegations of match-fixing.

Ssimbwa is accused of asking for a budget to influence referees from former URA FC CEO Ivan Kakembo, while Ssimwogerere wrote about match-fixing in Uganda's soccer league in his column in Bukedde newspaper.

The allegations against Ssimbwa's were reportedly made by Kakembo at the start of January via his social media platform after leaving URA.

"URA FC head coach has been summoned by FUFA Ethics Committee-Investigatory Chamber over allegations made via social media on January 8, 2020, by former URA FC CEO Ivan Kakembo in which he claimed that the coach always wanted ‘a budget to bribe referees'. Ssimbwa will appear before the Committee on Monday 16 at FUFA House Mengo to provide more information on the claims", read the communication from the committee.

However, the former Express FC coach Ssimwogerere revealed in Bukedde newspaper on February 23 that there had been a conspiracy by officials and referees to determine the results of their second-round match between Express FC and Proline he was still the coach of the club.

Ssemwogerere and Ssimbwa will appear before the Committee on Monday at FUFA House Mengo.

In another development, Tooro United coach Muhammed Kisekka has also been summoned over match-fixing allegations by the same committee to appear on Monday.

Kisekka accused his players of throwing away games last weekend when his side went down 1-0 to SC Villa in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

"We have several challenges we are facing. You saw me make the first lineup and eventually making changes. For any professional coach, you cannot do that, but rumours of betting have forced us to make changes. This is a fact, you saw how we conceded a soft goal. I can give references to very many games. We are almost scoring ourselves. As a coach, I have no control over that.  I don't have evidence, but it is happening. Every time, I receive communication that your team has been manipulated, we concede goals we should not have conceded", Kisekka stated.

"We have good players but their mental toughness is very poor. This is the third game in the second round that I'm getting information about my team being manipulated and you see it in the first minutes of the game."
