Cranes coach Johnathan McKinstry is hoping that left-back Mustafa Kizza will be available for the 2020 Total African Nations Championship (CHAN) in Cameroon.

Kizza away is away in Switzerland for trials and there are reports that he may miss the 2020 CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) in April.

"He should be back in the country this week. Even before he left, he informed me and I cleared him. He is a good player with a bright future and I believe he will achieve more," stated McKinstry.

This is the third time Kizza is leaving the country for trials. A few years ago, he had left for Real Valladolid in Spain and Hassania Agadir in Morocco.

Before travelling to Switzerland, Kizza had agreed to renew his contract with KCCA FC which ends in June but he changed his mind and decided to try his luck elsewhere.

Kizza's teammate Herbert Achai and SC Villa's Derrick Ndahiro are some of the players summoned to team that can play at left-back position, a position Kizza has perfected.

Meanwhile, McKinstry is sweating over the fitness of his key players-goalkeeper Charles Lukwago, Halid Lwaliwa and John Revita due to injuries.

"It's about managing the medical process so we expect Halid and Charles to be back training next week so that we get three-quarters of the training camp. For John, it's different. We have to do another scan. We shall make a decision next week," McKinstry added.

Sources at KCCA have revealed that John Revita is expected to be out for the rest of the season. Milton Karisa is another player that didn't train today at GEMS Cambridge International School in Butabika and McKinstry feels he is tired but will be back soon.
