Sseguya has now taken charge of Jinja based club, Jinja Hippos and aims at turning it into a top side in the country in the next three seasons.

After quitting Kyadondo Rugby Club and the Hima Cement Heathens rugby team, coach Robert Sseguya returned to his residence and waited for telephone calls from various clubs.

He had a passion for the sport and eagerly waited for any club to employ him but in vain. It was instead the national team that called him to take charge of the Rugby Cranes 15s team.

However, even this could not satisfy the former boxer and Rugby Cranes flanker because the national team job was seasonal.

Sseguya has now taken charge of Jinja based club, Jinja Hippos and aims at turning it into a top side in the country in the next three seasons.

"We are ok and I'm confident in the next two-three seasons we shall be in the top two teams in the Nile Special Premier Rugby League," Sseguya said.

He said the 45-8 home defeat by defending champions Hima Cement Heathens in the second leg of the Nile Stout Premier Rugby League game at Dam Waterz club in Jinja on Saturday did not scare him at all.

"The first leg at Kyadondo we lost 56-0, but now it is 45-8 which shows great improvement.  I'm impressed with the boys. Heathens did not bully us in the pack like it did in the first leg," Sseguya said.

Meanwhile, in the other games, Betway Kobs smashed Makerere Impis 67-7 at Legends Rugby Club to send them at the bottom of the table, while Warriors upset Toyota Buffaloes 22-20 at Kyadondo Rugby club.

Shell Rimula Rhinos struggling in the relegation zone managed to get losing bonus point after a 19-13 defeat by Plascon Mongers in Entebbe, while Stanbic Black Pirates defeated Rams 19-3 stay in the third position.

Heathens top the league table with 53 points, five ahead of second positioned Kobs, while Pirates 38points are third.

Impis and Rhinos fighting relegation have six points each, but Rhinos have a better point difference.
