People in the construction industry are so keen on using Ready Mix Concrete due to a number of factors.

Uganda's construction industry is growing at a very fast rate, setting a precedent of improved and increased housing in the country.

But amidst all these, factors of environmental conservation is key especially when it comes to usage of cement in construction.

Firms such as iBM Ready Mix concrete are being considered in the estate construction due to their concern for the environment.

People in the construction industry are so keen on using Ready Mix Concrete due to a number of factors. Eng. James Musoke from a local construction firm says since RMC uses bulk cement instead of bagged cement, dust pollution will be reduced and the cement will be saved.

"Environment pollution is reduced due to less production of cement. Then, there are the aspect of better durability of the structure, their overall service life increases and there is saving in life-cycle cost," he explained.

Mathias Kasujja, the Managing Director of iBM, one of the leading suppliers of RMC in the country notes that there are so many advantages of using the Ready-mix concrete.
He explains that the concrete is produced under controlled conditions that place and make its transportation so easy and more cost-effective.

"Dust pollution is reduced, RMC uses bulk cement instead of bagged cement and there is a high speed of construction that further relates to reduced costs," said Kasujja.

In most construction sites, there is always signs of noise and air pollution, something that causes environmental degradation, this is minimized by the use of RMC.

Most construction engineers we talked to observed that while both types are viable in concrete construction, one may be more beneficial than the other depending on project conditions.

Mathias Kasujja the iBM Ready Mix Concrete Uganda Managing Director said Ready-mix concrete is manufactured in a plant and delivered to the construction site in an unhardened and plastic state, ready for use. "Ready-mix concrete is sold by volume, usually expressed in cubic meters. We have two plants, one in Namanve and another in Nalukolongo in Kampala," he said.

Kasujja says iBM has the latest modern RMC trucks that are key in delivering the concrete fast and secure in any site. He said RMC offers a higher quality, and variation between batches is minimal when concrete is prepared in a plant environment. "Ready-mix concrete is normally recommended for large projects that require a high volume. On the other hand, site mixing is a better option for small projects and renovations, where the concrete volume is smaller," he said.

Kasujja said iBM Ready-Mix Concrete Uganda Ltd Uganda is a trusted supplier of quality ready mix concrete / premix-concrete to both the building and civil construction industries in Uganda-Kampala.

"iBM Ready Mix concrete supplies grades; (Grades C20, C25, C30, C35, C40) using 32.5MPA, 45.5MPA, and 52.5MPA cement, all with the use of European advanced technology for modern batching plants.

"We have a team of industry experts available to provide you with advice on numerous aspects related to ready-mix concrete and the effective handling thereof," he explained.

Advantages of READYMIX CONCRETE
