Views on National Voter display 

On Friday, February 7 2020, the Electoral Commission announced that the display of the National Voter's Register would start on February 19 and end on March 10 2020. 

The display exercise is very critical to every Ugandan who is 18 years and above because it is the last opportunity to ensure you will vote in the 2021 elections.

Besides the National Voter Register display exercise, the Electoral Commission also displayed the registers for the special Interest groups, namely: Youth, Person's with Disabilities and older persons of each village. 

The display of the special interest groups started on 19th February and ended on 28th February 2020. Our reporter George Bita compiled a few vox pops from some of the local leaders.

I appreciate the voter display exercise as it helps us the voters to ensure we will participate in the elections. 

However, most times the locations are not friendly to Persons Living with Disabilities (PWD) as they lack disabled access structures which makes some of us stay away.

I have already appealed to my people to turn up in big numbers for the exercise. We cannot be left out of such an important national exercise.

We have been mobilising the youths to ensure they check the voters' registers for their names. A clean register is what we need to avoid irregularities in the elections.

Some of these things are done to just squander public funds. Those voters' registers often end up with ghost voters whether we like it or not. As a youth, I will gladly go and check the voter register. Since the majority of voters are youths, our voice has to be heard in 2021.
