The Impis whose social media presence precedes their on pitch performances showed fight as they challenged the Rams for the long awaited win.

"This being the last game of the first round, really put us under a lot of pressure from the university, our fans and of course the administration. We had to make sure we delivered in the derby win because everyone has been on our necks due to the fact that the Rams were outperforming us," Impis assistant captain Spencer Muhirwe said.

He was especially impressed with the effort the team put in. In terms of communication, team work which he admits were done with oomph.

"Communication was there, teamwork was on point and they kept themselves calm and collected to bring home the win," remarked Muhirwe.

The four vital points have pushed the Impis into ninth place while rhino who were humbled by heathens in their 69-6 demolition now occupy bottom place in the 10 team log.

Rhinos Captain Arnold Kiiza refused to admit his side are in deep trouble especially now that the Impis have gone to six points which they added to two losing bonus points.

"We have had our fair share of every team. We know the teams that we can beat and where we can fight so, the second round is really going to be important," Kiiza said.

On Friday night the Pirates showed little love as they defeated the Toyota Buffaloes under the lights to take the all-important win as they concluded their first round in the league.
