KCCA FC soccer Academy opened up an eight-point lead in the Treble Group of the FUFA Junior U-17 League following their 2-0 victory over Bright Stars at Lugogo.

Aslam Ssebuufu and Oscar Mawa both scored as the group leaders, now on 27 points, peeled further away from second-placed Bright Stars.

In the Hattrick Group, leaders Busoga (21 points) were held to a 1-1 draw by BUL in the Jinja derby.

At the end of the season, the top sides from each of the groups meet in the final to decide the champion of the league.

BUL are the defending champions after they defeated KCCA 3-0 last season.
