With the festive holidays rapidly approaching many Ugandans are scrambling to travel upcountry to spend the Christmas season and the New Year in their villages with family and friends.

Even with the skyrocketing bus fares, many people used the weekend to take bus rides and make it to their upcountry destinations in time for the festivities.

Places like Bakuli Bus Terminal and Kisenyi Bus Terminal in Kampala were teeming with activity as travellers made last-minute shopping before their bus rides and others scrambled for tickets.

Here are some of the best images from the pre-Christmas activities.
