National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) managing director Eng. Silver Mugisha, has likened leadership and finance to twins.

Mugisha made the remarks on Saturday at the Kitabi Seminary Old Boys Association (KISOBA) business dinner. NWSC was the logistical supporter of the event.

The MD was the keynote speaker at the event conducted at Skyz-Protea Hotel in the city suburb of Naguru. His speech was centred on leadership and business.

"As a leader, you must understand finance, cash flow, discern finance and understand the structure of your organisation. You need to know the balance sheet, cash flow ratio analysis," said Mugisha.

He observed that leaders must be able to gauge customer satisfaction and customer trust.

Mugisha emphasised that for a business to succeed, leaders must be uncomfortable with the status quo.

Gen. Salim Saleh was the chief guest at the function attended by numerous alumni and friends of KISOBA. He contributed sh50m cash towards the sh620m water and piggery project to be located at the school in Bushenyi.

Vision Group chief executive officer/managing director Robert Kabushenga, who attended as a friend of KISOBA, pledged sh5m.

Kabushenga also convinced the alumni, who attended the institution in the 1980s and the subsequent years, to contribute sh1m each to ease the strain.
