Chief guest Mike Chibita commended the Uganda Book Forum for promoting the culture of reading and writing books

The 3rd Uganda Book Awards were held at the Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala on Friday, with a call on authors and publishers to use their trade to promote socio-economic development.

The function, organised by the Book Forum of Uganda, attracted authors and publishers from across the country.

It was a moment of joy and hope as the authors and publishers interacted and shared their experiences ahead of the function.

There was even greater excitement as the winning authors in the respective 20 categories were announced.
