Abamurungi needs sh111m for surgery

Abamurungi is 11 months old and needs sh111.5m ($30,000) to go for heart surgery to India.

The sh111.5m is inclusive of the travel ticket, upkeep, and surgery. Abamurungi was last month diagnosed with abnormalities in the right and left ventricles of her heart and was referred to India for an urgent operation.

Andinda Bwayomba, the baby's father, said she was born with some of her intestines out and was operated on at Platinum Hospital in Kampala. According to the Echo report from the Uganda Heart Institute, the reason for referral is large PM VSD/mid muscular VSD.

The report is signed by Dr. Sulaiman Lubega, a senior consultant paediatrician/ cardiologist and Dr Bernard Obongonyinge, a paediatrician/ cardiology fellow. Bwayomba, is, therefore, calling for financial support to take Abamurungi to India for the operation next month.
