The 2019/2020 Nile Special Premier Rugby League starts Friday with defending champions Hima Cement Heathens hosting Betway Kobs at 8:00 pm at Kyadondo Rugby ground.

They will be in plenty at Kyadondo

The match that is no doubt a repeat of the Uganda Cup final is one of the four-night games to be played this season at the same venue.

The two sides met on Saturday in the Uganda Cup final at the Kings Park Rugby Ground, Bweyogerere where Kobs emerged victors with 15-14 results.

The night games are meant to give sponsors, players, and fans a nightlife experience of rugby, according to Uganda Rugby Union CEO Ramsey Olinga.

"We lose so many fans that are out of town on weekends, so the Friday night game is meant to give fans a chance to have fun as they wait for traffic jams to reduce on the roads," Olinga said.

Olinga explained that they chose Kyadondo as the venue for night games because the club has invested in floodlights but that any club that does so will have the opportunity to host night games the following season.
