International University of East Africa (IUEA) sponsored boxer Shafik Kiwanuka has this week started toning down on his training.

Kiwanuka will be in action on November 29 in IUEA's auditorium against Zimbabwe's Thamsanqa Dube. They will be fighting for the vacant World Boxing Federation crown.

"He is done with all the hard training. It is now time for light sessions to conserve energy," stated Kiwanuka manager Emmanuel Mwesigwa. "He will do more swimming, sprints, shadow boxing and hitting pads."

Mwesigwa explained that Kiwanuka has gained the required stamina and power and it is now time to relax. IUEA will host the 12 round fight in its 1,600 seater auditorium. The auditorium is part of an over sh60m offer towards boxer Kiwanuka's upcoming fight.

IUEA's package includes a 1600 seater modern auditorium, the fight's sanction fees, fight publicity on top of giving Kiwanuka an IUEA scholarship.

The fight will be telecast live by Urban television and will also be covered across all Vision Group's platforms. A win for Kiwanuka will boost his chances of making it into the top 15 rankings of major world boxing bodies.
