Champions KCCA now sixth in the league

KCCA FC moved to sixth place in the league after they came twice from behind to beat Police 3-2 in the StarTimes Uganda Premier league on Saturday at Lugogo.

KCCA who were without goalkeeper Charles Lukwago, efenders John Revita and Mustafa Kizza, midfielders Muzamiru Mutyaba,Nicholas Kasozi put up a decent performance to stop Police in end to end encounter.

Police took an early lead through Ben Ocen in the 17th minute before Jackson Nunda levelled matters for KCCA in the 21th minute. Pius kaggawa lifted Police back into the lead in the 24th minute before Nunda bounced back with an equaliser in 70th minute. In the second half, Erisa Ssekisambu gave KCCA the lead in the 78th minute off a good ball from another substitute Fillbert Obenchan.

KCCA who continued to be a threat to Police's defence got a penalty after Ssekisambu was brought down in the 86th minute. Nunda stepped up to take it although it was stopped by Police goalkeeper Davis Mutebi.        

Despite failing to  score a hattrick, Nunda's performance also earned him man of match performance. The victory saw KCCA move to sixth position with 16 points while it was another disappointing result for Police who reminded second from bottom with five points. Vipers who are in action today, the table standings with 30 points but they have played more games than league champions KCCA.   

BUL is second with 27 points while SC Villa and Onduparaka are third and fourth with 23 points each then Maroons is fifth with 17 points.                                       

Elsewhere, Musa Esenu notched a hattrick as BUL defeated Mbarara City 3-0 at Bugembe stadium in Jinja. At Bombo, Derrick Ndahiro was on target as SC Villa managed to pick a 1-0 victory over Bright Stars.                

In Fort Portal, home side Tooro United played to 1-1 a draw with bottom side Proline at Paul's seminary Grounds while Bright Stars
