Uganda Tour to Zimbabwe

Uganda 193/8

Takashinga 197/2 (Takashinga win by 8 wickets)

Uganda's tour of Zimbabwe is about a whole lot more than securing wins. The Cricket Cranes have taken to the ovals in Zimbabwe with ease but as things stand, the wins have become hard to come by so far.

Ever since they won their initial one day international (ODI) against the Takashinga Lions U-23, they have lost the only T20 match of the series to the Old Hararians and also lost their second ODI against Takashinga.

In the eight-wicket loss to Takashinga, Uganda could only manufacture 193 runs in 50 overs, a transgression the Zimbabweans exposed.

Henry Ssenyondo took Uganda's two wickets while Riazat Ali Shah's 54 not out and Ronat Patel's 40 kept the scoreboard ticking.

"The purpose of this tour is to see to it that the team gets as many tests as possible. Win or lose it doesn't matter much as long as they test out our players," Uganda Cricket Association's Denis Musali said.

The tour is acting as a build-up to the World Challenge League in Oman for November 30 to December 13 and part of a new qualification round for the 2023 World Cup.
