Today, Hussein Kakooza 42, appeared before grade one Magistrate Stella Amabilis and remanded him until tomorrow for plea taking.

The Buganda Road court has remanded to Luzira Prison a man who allegedly forged an Umeme trademark or logo.

On Wednesday, Hussein Kakooza, appeared before Grade One Magistrate Stella Amabilis and remanded him until tomorrow.

"I cannot allow you to take plea because the state prosecutor in this matter is not around. I am going to remand you until tomorrow," she stated.

The prosecution alleges that Kakooza between 2013 and September 2019 at Kiganda Kawempe Division in the Kampala Capital City Authority without permission from Umeme counterfeited it's logo or trademark on a private motorcycle registration number UPW 719 with intent to defraud members of the public.

He reportedly went around Kawempe division in Kampala, illegally connecting people, claiming to be an employee of Umeme.
